Mycotoxins are toxic compounds produced by certain molds, commonly found in grains, nuts, dried fruits, and animal feed. They are invisible, heat-stable, and potentially carcinogenic or immunotoxic, even at low concentrations.
Regulatory authorities worldwide have established strict maximum limits for mycotoxins — particularly in products consumed by children, pregnant women, and livestock.
At Ekocentrum, we offer accredited mycotoxin screening to ensure food safety, regulatory compliance, and prevention of health risks.
Our laboratory uses validated chromatographic methods to detect a wide spectrum of mycotoxins — from aflatoxins to ochratoxin A — across various food and feed matrices.
With many years of experience in testing agricultural and processed products, we help clients identify sources of contamination, validate supplier goods, and implement effective quality control systems.
Mycotoxins Tested
We routinely screen for:
- Aflatoxins B₁, B₂, G₁, G
- Ochratoxin A
- Other regulated and emerging toxins upon request
Application Areas
- Cereal, spice, and nut manufacturers
- Animal feed producers
- Safety of baby food and organic products
- Compliance with import/export regulations
- Certification for EU and international markets
Techniques Used
Our analyses are performed using High-Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC) with fluorescence detection (FLD).
The procedures for the determination of aflatoxins and ochratoxin A are accredited according to ČSN EN ISO/IEC 17025 and fully compliant with EU standards.
